I love that my neighbor allows his chickens to “free range” onto my property and even said if I feel like cooking one he’s more than fine with it. We trade food and favors all the time. Also great pest control around my house. I love thy neighbor.
Dr. Berg, I went on your fasting diet and ate a lot of things you suggested. I want to thank you because no other Doctor gave me the advice that you have. I figured out I was insulin resistant from watching all your Diabetic Vids. I am type II diabetic, WAS overweight. I went from 267 down to 212 and still losing. I take a small shot of good virgin olive oil, coffee in the morning and around 12-1 I have eggs for lunch with an english muffin. Eat a sensible dinner at 6 and don't eat till the next day, sometimes I cheat and have a little ice cream. lol. My A1C is 5.6 and my sugar in the morning ranges from 85 to 95. I went from a 40 waist down to almost a 34. All i had to do was follow your direction, in which I did and have not felt as good as I do now!! So, THANK YOU my friend...
My grandpa ate eggs every morning. He lived to be 92. Died from pneumonia. But his autopsy said he had a heart of a healthy 40 year old man ! 👍🏻
But he also did NOT eat sugar, he ate lots of fish and no cereals or bread. Lots of veggies and with those eggs, he had bacon !
Dr. Berg thank you! I love the fact that you are not limiting yourself to only taking care of you, your family and your 6.6 million patients but also animals as well and the soil. Healthy soil, healthy us!
3 to 4 whole eggs daily since three years after you encouraged me.
Before that I was afraid of its cholesterol.
But after daily consumption of 4 eggs my cholesterol, blood pressure even got better.
Thank you Sir Berg for the awareness
I have family in Greece. Whenever I go I always notice the egg yoke color is extremely vibrant and looks nothing like the color we see here in the states. It's extremely orange and you can actually taste that there's more nutrition in the yoke itself. They are raised on plant based feed and can roam their asses around and one farmer I went to was feeding them alfalfa. best frikin eggs ive ever tasted.
My grandparents have chicken running around in the wild and whenever they give me eggs I can immediately tell the difference. Each egg looks different but the taste is way better than eggs from the supermarket. Same goes for vegetables. We grow salat, potatoes, onions, paprika and tomatoes at home. Many people do here in Austria. Wish you all the best!
I believe it. Eating my two eggs per day or three sometimes has actually helped me lower my cholesterol. Seriously! My doctor actually encouraged me to eat them daily because he said being completely satisfied and well nourished by the eggs, actually prevented me from eating donuts and sugar foods that hurt my body!

Because I really listen to all your excellent advice and I changed completely how I eat, I lost 50 pounds in the last 4 months!
I feel Great, I was 290 feeling horrible with no energy, now I feel like I can do all the things I used to do 30 years ago!
Thanks Dr Berg, I wish all the doctors I seen over the years would explain things the way you do.
God Bless You. ❤👍
My family had 5 chickens for about 5 years. They were the best eggs I have ever eaten, and store bought eggs are just not the same since. They also kept bugs out of our garden because they instantly ate them all.
My grandfather lived to 96. He ate many eggs every day all his life. No cholesterol issues whatsoever. Pasture raised organic Eggs are nothing but super healthy for you 👍🏻
That's eggcellent because I love eggs! I love lifting weights, I love staying fit, youthful and healthy. I love Jesus above all else might as well put that out there while mentioning my loves lol and I also love eggs hahaa. My momma used to sometimes call me the egg man just messing around but yea they're good and good for you and quick and easy and economical praise God for eggs!!!
Dr. Berg is the modern Batman. Watching your videos changed my eating habits and improved my life. Shout out to this good man. Keep doing what you are doing. No one else out there is giving such a valuable lessons. Cheers.
Thank you! This confirms further to me that eggs are an incredible superfood. When I got diagnosed with T2 diabetes about 18 months ago I immediately adjusted my diet. I started eating eggs every morning. My doctors (primary and endocrinologist) said go easy on eggs, no more than 5 per week. I went from 2 a day to 3 and then 4 and I still do 4 a day and they are JUMBO eggs. I also usually have bacon with it (2-3 strips). When I went back after 3 months of 3-4 eggs per day (and I have been on a statin) my cholesterol, triglycerides had dropped from very high to mid-normal range. Next 3 months later they dropped to low normal. That's after INCREASING my eggs intake. I do 4 a day still, missing a day here or there but almost every day. And bonus - they are DELICIOUS. I thought I'd get sick of eggs but I haven't. And my health has improved, including my diabetic retinopathy (because I understand the lutein in eggs helps eyes so I credit the eggs with that). Thanks for spreading the word. Oh, and my doctors? when I told them I was having 4 eggs per day they both then said (independently of each other, not knowing what the other said) - "keep eating the eggs". Exactly that, they said!!!! They know it is a superfood but I think they're guided to be overly cautious and are a little afraid to tell people to eat them. Thank God for doctors like you who spread the truth about this superfood!!! I am thoroughly convinced - it's been 18 months and my health has only gotten better! By the way they removed me from taking insulin a year ago and just reduced my metformin by half 3 months ago!
Thank you Dr Berg for validating my belief of good nutrition in eggs! I've been a nurse for 40 yrs, and do not agree with very much in the medical realm. Always do your own research, right now it's all about profit and treating symptoms, but this is soon to change, thank God, Blessings to you sir!
My mom has been raising chickens ever since I was a kid so I haven’t eaten store bought chicken and eggs in probably 15 years. Even now that I’m 25 and living by myself she still brings me an ungodly amount of eggs and chicken meat. After this video I’m pretty thankful for that.
I started working out regularly 8 weeks ago and I started eating 4 eggs and a small salmon filet at work for lunch everyday to hopefully get the most out of my workouts. Great to hear that I made a good choice for lunch.
Hello Dr. Eric, I'm so glad that you addressed the chicken egg in such great detail. I've run into people who claim they can taste the difference between brown shelled and white shelled eggs. It's purely the power of suggestion on the consumer's part. Free-foraging chicken eggs are truly extraordinary sources of premium nutrition. You did a fantastic job of explaining the differences, and I truly appreciate it. Thumbs up, wishing you all the best in poultry! I'm also happy that you addressed the feed differences.
Just an idea to help him out. I save all my egg cartons for a friend with chickens he always tells me he is thankful for that. Otherwise he said he needs to buy them.
My grandmother's family were loggers and hog farmers they were raised day one on sausage bacon eggs beans and bread....all of it was raised organically....no heart disease or anything else....she had 10 children....and lived to be 89.
I've been eating whole eggs for over 20 years and my cholesterol levels are stellar. My Dr. told me "Whatever you're doing, keep doing it because your levels are fantastic". I never believed the FDA hype years ago that eggs were bad for you. They always have to have a food enemy to demonize so they can stay relevant.
Thank you Dr. Berg!
I'm a 60 y/o man, and have been eating Keto/carnivore for the last 5 years. I don't eat a lot of chicken, but eggs are a HUGE part of my diet (at least 4-5 almost every day) along with a lot of fatty meats, and some greens (broccoli, spinach, etc.). I recently had full blood work done (at the behest of my wife), and my test results were excellent. My NP couldn't believe my cholesterol and triglycerides (which were elevated several years ago, prior to Keto) were in the good ranges that they were. I almost think she wished (or expected) them to be much higher, given my way of eating. Needless to say, I (and my wife) were very happy.
You (and Dr. Ken Berry) have been my inspiration and guiding lights. Again, thank you so very much for your channel!
!
Dr Berg. As someone who raises chickens, I cannot overstate the benefits of not feeding your chickens at all. Rather it is best to provide them with a composting mass such as laeves and grass clippings on which they can forrage. This will provide them with warmth, essential mycelium, bugs and potentially worms. In return they will supply you with super rich compost. The most they require from you is water, a safe roosting spot and nesting boxes. Hope you find this useful.
I raised some chickens in the past, naturally/organically & the yolks had a darker yellow more orange color and they tasted amazing! So honestly when I see a bright yellow yolk now I think twice! Also, I'm lovin' the beard & stache!!!
Where I live in Croatia there are vending machines for almost all farmer products including eggs, so you can just get eggs from local farmers from a vending machine. Also anywhere outside of cities there are tons of chickens everywhere, outside of main roads usually they can roam freely around the villages
Definitely a huge difference between home raised chicken eggs vs store bought. I've been raising chickens for a few years now. My hens give me 10 eggs a day (of all colors) and my rooster well hes our alarm clock in the morning😆, sure they slow down a little in the Winter But thrive during every other season. Healthy happy chicken, I often get Double yolkers 😊
My great grandfather was supposedly stabbed to death over an argument about a chicken going onto the neighbor's property. "You stole my chicken", etc. Guessing times were hard.
I don't think we fully appreciate the fact that anywhere in the World Dr. Eric Berg is providing us with so much education on health and nutrition and we're getting all this for FREE!
I love that you are discussing this. I grew a huge garden last year to feed myself and my 3 ducks & 10 chickens. This winter I have been getting more eggs then I expected. But I believe it is the temperature of their coop AND....the bell peppers & peas they wait for twice a day! 😊🙏
Been eating eggs for years. I never bought into the crap belief that eggs were bad for you. Just nonsense. I'll never forget my nutritionist 20 years ago told me I can have eggs everyday and it's solidified my belief that I could, and then when I checked in with my doctor she was horrified when she found out I was eating eggs and butter everyday. Told me your cholesterol is high. Here, I'll show you and put me in for a blood test, and my cholesterol actually went down and my weight was down. Needless to say she didn't have much to say after that.
I also eat 5 or 6 eggs everyday, help me to loss 60 lbs while building some muscles, actually i started this habit last year after i saw your video about eggs brnefit. Thanks dr berg.
You are an EXCELLENT educator of medicine and health! I've been overdosing on your videos because of the wealth of knowledge you are providing. Thank GOD for you! Blessings Dr. Berg!
when I was diagnosed as type 2 I was also told I had high cholesterol and a fatty liver . I went on a high fat low carb diet and I eat 5 eggs a day for 2 years . My last physical showed my blood sugar ,cholesterol and fatty liver are all good . I've lost over 100lb and have taken no medication whatsoever it's all down to diet and exercise.
Been eating 4 eggs a day for 2 yrs now, usually first 3 eggs at 3pm, (boiled) then 30/45 min later I start my training routine, then about 15 to 20 min after training I eat one more egg. Works like a charm for me, for both building muscle as well as the sense of a full stomach. That’s aside of the nutrients you digest.
Dr Berg I do natural bodybuilding and love eggs as one of my protein and fat sources. I was always concerned about cholesterol but its good to know that dietary cholesterol is good for me. I had no idea how much of whole egg protein is utilized by my body as compared to other protein sources. Thx for sharing.
I always remembered when I was a child about 25 years ago I went to visit my grandmother in Asia and to this day I always remembered how good her eggs were. The best eggs I’ve ever had to this day and i actually always remembered how insanely dark the yolks were because I had never seen an egg like that before in my life and still to this day from any store I mean. Like you said you need your own chickens and you can’t be cheap those chickens need to be as comfortable and happy as possible I believe that affects the quality of the eggs as well. Happy healthy eggs taste best. Poor stressed out chickens have their cortisol thru the roof all day every day how do you think that’s gonna affect the egg or even the poor chicken itself. If your gonna eat an animal at least give it a good life and be kind to it.
