Rip the greatest and most powerful singer of all time, he's dreaming evil, hungry for heaven, holy diving, standing up and shouting, catching, and hiding in the rainbow in the dark, not talking to strangers, feeling the magic while riding the universes, he is ronnie James the last in line, the man on the silver mountain DIO
He was LITERALLY dying from cancer at the time this footage was recorded, and he could STILL sing like that.
I saw the show two days before, on my birthday no less, in CT, and he sounded as brilliant as ever.
There are very few singers who are blessed with the natural ability to sing like that into one's 60s. We won't see the likes of him again for a while, I think.
67 years old stage 4 cancer still performs 20× times better than pop stars who cancel the tour for having a cold, i have a feel music will never be rewiwed old legends are slowly leaving earth.
I was at this concert with my best friend! One of the best nights of our lives! We were Dio fans since the age of 14. We are now pushing 60 and still love that man. It was a honor to attend his last concert!!
@105467480902854495112 Not sure. But considering how advanced his cancer was when he was diagnosed, he DEFINITELY had extensive spread of cancer during this show.
Nothing this great could ever exist again....it's simply not possible. If you've seen Ron live once or several times count yourself lucky. He loved to touch hands with his front row people and I am happy to say I've been there a few times. I was sure he'd be on that stage until age 80....easily. But fate often has other plans. The best we can do is remember and SHARE, SHARE, SHARE!!! Pass this on and let the younger ones know that it's precious.........because it is.
Mob Rules: one of the greatest rock albums ever written & in my opinion the peak of Sabbath. I've always liked Sabbath but everything Ronnie touched turned to pure gold.
When I was about 14 my older brother (RIP) snuck me into a club. There was a small guy with long hair standing at the back of the club watching the band. My brother told me to remember that night because the small guy was Ronnie James Dio and he was the best metal singer ever. The band that was playing that night was Hellion. I have been a fan of both bands ever since.
Joe Siegler Guys, although this really is Dio's last show, it was a terrible show by the standard of the previous tour dates. That venue was so messed up. The audience didn;t get the beautifully programmed lighting show, the large gargoyles on the set, behind the chain fence, etc. It was also the last show of that tour and a lot of resentments were being shared by a couple people on the crew that made for a mental state that created a lesser than possible show. Just saying, I was the production rigger for that tour. What an honor and truly, as the new guy, I was blessed to be working with such a great crew for great bosses.
All I can say, is this: I followed DIO from his time in Elf, Rainbow, Sab, and QR Operation MCII, and this is one the most awesome videos I've seen capturing his vocals, on-stage performance, and his overall artistry. Thank you for posting!!
Dio was fucking good... no metal singer will ever compare. He would have been 78 this year and I'm sure he would have still kicked ass. LOVE THE SHIT OUT OF IT!!
Why would an American throw the UK version of the bird? I couldn't be certain, but Ronnie has worked with English and Irish guitarist and Drummers and Bassists for years, and over the decades. Ritchie Blackmore, Tony Iommi, Vivian Campbell to name a few Guitarists. Bill Ward, Simon Wright, Cozy Powell...on drums, Geezer Butler on bass, you get the picture. He was a worldly gentlemen, intelligent beyond comprehension, but I digress. RIP Ronnie, you are missed, and I cherish your music you made for us. Thank you.
It doesn't exist, dude. The guys that filmed it in my name were the only ones to record anything there, save for a few shaky cam cel phone cameras. This was the only authorized video recorded at this gig. Can't release what doesn't exist.

R.I.P.
we miss you Ronnie! 😢
I think Ronnie didn't like the T-shirt.
